Mick Henricks is the Blacksmith behind The Farmer’s Forge. Mick has had a passion for metal and wood work since he was in primary school.
The Farmer’s Forge was officially launched in January 2020, however, Mick had been making metal pieces and tooling for years before that. It was when he first attended a Blacksmithing Workshop (a gift from his wife, Mardi) at the Cobb & Co Museum in Toowoomba in 2009 that his obsession with Blacksmithing was ignited. Mick attended as many workshops as he could over the years, while also balancing family, work & farming commitments. It was pretty clear that, after 11 years of a blacksmithing obsession, it was time to make things official!
Mick and Mardi operate The Farmer’s Forge from the family cattle property in Roma, Queensland, where they live with their 3 boys.
Our workshop specialises in quality forged axes & hammers. Each of our pieces is uniquely made using traditional blacksmithing techniques with the assistance of modern machinery. The forging, woodwork & leatherwork is all made by us here in our little workshop.
We hope you love our products just as much as Mick loves making them!
